Paid my first visit to this historic landmark on a rainy Sunday. Seeing it in person brings the meaning of organic architecture to life. Tickets for guided tour were purchased 4-6weeks in advance. Personal umbrellas and large bags are not permitted. Tour provides an umbrella and earbuds (guide is miked).
3 weeks back I was driving back from Philadelphia going home(Chicago) with my coworker, we took a detour here & we loved it.My coworker was more amazed because he knew nothing about this place. It’s quite beautiful from multiple different angles. It’s like one of those things you have to see it for yourself a picture does not do it justice. To some it’s just a house. To others it’s architectural beauty. The house flows so well with the environment.I wish I got to see inside but tickets were almost bought in a month in advance so plan ahead.
First off, Frank Lloyd Wrights work is genius. His architecture is beautiful and inspiring. The way that Fallingwater exists as an ode to the landscape around it is amazing. It makes you appreciate architecture even if you dont understand it.Secondly, the tour was wonderful. Our guide was super knowledgeable and intelligent, with a focus on feeding our curiosity more than dropping facts.
The tour of the interior of the house was fantastic. You learn so much more about the history of the house and Kaufman family. It is must if you visit.Bring your hiking shoes for the outdoor paths and you can explore all day.
Amazing experience with one of the most famous structures in the United States. Our guide Chad was able to take us through the history with such wit and a depth of knowledge. I am glad we made an excursion to see it, would highly recommend for any history or architecture buff.
Stopped here first before visiting Polymath Park. Both were great stops. Give yourself at least an hour to see everything.
One of the best days of my life! Incredible place to visit! Should be on anybodys, and everybodys bucket list!
Beautiful home in a perfect setting!
Beware, though, that inside yours are very hard to come by. Self-guided is fine, though. The docents are amazingly helpful.
Werent able to get tickets for the inside your (it was sold out), but even walking around the exterior you are able to see how impressive and unique Falling Water is. Cant wait to go back and see the inside!
