J.P.モルガンの私邸にあった書斎＝Libraryの所蔵蔵書やアーカイヴズ資料を子息が一般公開した図書館博物館で、有料だが、稀覯本や手稿展示室には、世界的な天才たちの手書き原稿や楽譜を直に閲覧できる稀有なる図書館。世界的に著名な公共図書館であるNew York Public Library本館から歩いて10分くらいの位置にある。ニューヨーク公共図書館に調査に来て、時間が空けば、上述の閲覧室を訪ねると色んな刺激を受ける。それが楽しみで、時間があればよっている。17年前に、建築家レンゾ・ピアノによって増築と改築が行われ、実にモダンな仕様に変わった。改めて、マンハッタンの名所が増え、竣工当時にはNew York Timesが特集記事を公表したくらいに良い改修工事である。この改修時に地下講堂が整備されたので、さまざまな公演も楽しめる。マンハッタンを訪ねたら、MoMAよりも楽しいと感じる人もいるに違いない。ベートーヴェン、モーツアルト、シェーンベルクなどの楽譜やポーの手書き原稿などは、圧巻である。

非常に美しい美術館で、観光客はそこまで多くはなかった展示品は、バルザック、ディケンズやシャーロット・ブロンテなどの草稿、ベートーヴェンやモーツァルトの楽譜などがある。

コレクションもインテリアも美しくて、ニューヨークのどの美術館博物館よりも良かった。I loved the wide range of collection from music notes to propaganda poster and the way of interior, which was really beautiful.

内装が素晴らしい図書館。ニューヨークパスで入れなかったので普通にチケットを買って入場しました。

長時間滞在する場所ではないかもしれないけど、とても豪華で美しい空間。

原先為Mr. Pierpont Morgan私人圖書館藏後來由摩根家族捐出作為博物館官網介紹Charles McKim設計美輪美奐不足形容古典雅致只是剛好透過鏡頭只能展現出它十分之一的美麗裡面的書籍遠至中古十六世紀整理完畢後 放在恆溫的環境保存除了這個最漂亮的圖書館之外博物館內還有展出一個特展和幾個畫展整體規模不算很大但也是可以細細瀏覽約3個小時左右國外大小型的博物館不勝枚舉真心佩服經營理念/方式還有人民願意付費觀賞的想法有機會讓各國人可以感受到歷史的美好有機會到紐約 真心推薦

A very nice musium with some old books, from around 400-1000 years ago. There is an old library there and antique artifacts.Overall, I really enjoyed the visit, though it is not very big, with only three floors with few rooms.A ticket cost 22 dollars for adults and it completed a nice final day of my two weeks stay in the US.

The museum is very nice and small. It has a lot of beautiful books and history to learn. I loved the cafe so much. The food was very delicious and the coffee was outstanding. Very clean and nice atmosphere and affordable.

Great space, but were not very interested in the exhibits. The library space is great. The modern courtyard connecting the different buildings us super cool. Overall not worth the admission price for me.

The library itself is extraordinary. How much I enjoy the work in the museum depends greatly on what the exhibitions are; no surprise for a small museum. The cafe is a delightful central courtyard space to rest in.

It was a memorable experience. The library has an impressive collection, but the very vast majority of the collection is not on display. I had hoped to see the oeiginal Mozart and Beethoven transcripts in the collection, but sadly almost jone of the music was on display, save Brahms first symphony, and some delightful ragtime sheets.Overall, I find whats on display is a little bit too sparse for me to feel it was a complete museum experience, although what they did have on display was very impressive.Worth a visit, but make sure to check whats on display first in case you are hoping to see something specific.

The library and room were beautiful and interesting. But with such variety of books, the amount of books displayed was disappointing. Other exhibits were not interesting.

Visited this Library & Museum on a Friday. This place has free entry on Fridays from 2 - 5 pm (reservations must be made through their website and tickets are available one week in advance and go on sale at 9.30 am Friday for the next free Friday admission).The library, Morgans reading room is small (compared to what you might expect from a Museum) but Id say its good to just pop into if you like libraries and museums etc. The gift shop is well stocked and the café was also open till 4 PM. Strict checking of proof of vaccination at entry.
